WELFARE MEASURES

State Bank of Travancore, premier bank in Kerala, has been very proactive in extending several lending and non lending activities through its branch network to all categories of weaker section in general and Scheduled castes, Scheduled tribes and Minority communities in particular. All our branches are sanctioning loans recommended by SC/ST Corporation, Block Development Office and other development agencies. Women, Physically handicapped persons, Slum dwellers and those in the lower strata of the society are given special preference in sanctioning of loans. The data relating to this is as under.

The Bank’s assistance to weaker sections under non-lending programmes is extended mostly through social circles formed in the branches, and controlled by Community Service Banking division functioning at Head Office of the Bank. We furnish hereunder some of such major activities of the 623 social circles:

2.Eye Donation Camps.

3.Free Medical Camps.

4.Rehabilitation Programmes for destitutes.

5.Free wheel chairs for Physically Handicapped Persons.

6.Programmes for improving the facilities of orphanage care homes, and geriatric centers.

7.Programmes for the benefit of student community.

Besides the above, the Bank, as part of its welfare measures undertakes the following for existing/retired staff members and their family members:

1.Scholarship and tuition fee reimbursement to eligible wards of staff members.

2.Reimbrsement of outpatient bills for specified diseases.

3.Subsidised canteen facilities.

4.Health club and Medical center.

5.Holiday home facilities.

6.Reimbursement of Medical checkup for Retired bank staff.

7.Sports and other cultural activities.

8.Staff recreation club.

9.Life insurance scheme.
